Sri Lanka is located off the southern coast of India. Sri Lanka is frequently referred to as the "Teardrop of India." Doesn't it look like that here?
The National bird of Sri Lanka is the Junglefowl.
Since I don't see a lot of birds in my daily life, I was quite taken with the birds that inhabit this island. This is a Scaly-breasted Munia. That's quite a fashionable outfit.
This Blue Magpie, spotted at Sinharaja Rain Forest, definitely wants to be noticed.
I love the striped pattern and colors on this male, Orange-breasted Green Pigeon at Yala National Park, Sri Lanka.
The expression on this Asian Paradise-flycatcher makes me smile as much as its beautiful colors.
Even though this beautiful flyer is not colorful, aren't those wings amazing?

Is not quite as bright as her male counterpart.
Birds need companionship, too, as we see with these charming couples.

I wonder what these Yellow-billed Babblers are thinking about.
Two Little Green Bee-eaters, at Yala National Park, are perfectly synchronized.

what fun...I never knew where Sri Lanka was located. I love the bird with no color, but lots of feathers & wing span. Doesn't it look like a beautiful skirt with pleats?
